Hey, Morning people.⠀
I know, I am little late in posting but I cannot forget to post it :)⠀
Here is very refreshing, delicious Sarson Ka Saag, for all you lovely people who have been asking me for it recipe.
Few days Back I already posted Makki Ki Roti, but somehow was little tied up with work, hence delay in posting this.⠀
Quickly look through recipe below, how we make Sarson ka Saag⠀
Ingredients:⠀
- 3 bunches,Sarson ⠀
- 1 bunch,spinach⠀
- 1 bunch,Bathwa ⠀
- 2-3 green chilies,chopped⠀
- 1 medium, onion, chopped⠀
- 6 cloves,garlic⠀
- 1 inch,ginger, grated⠀
- ½ tsp, urmeric powder⠀
- ½ tsp,chili powder⠀
- 1 tsp, cumin seeds⠀
- 2-3 dried red chilies,⠀
- 2 tbsp, makki atta⠀
- Pinch of Heeng⠀
- Salt to taste⠀
- 2 tbsp, butter (some extra for garnish)⠀
- 1 tbsp, ghee⠀
Method:⠀
- Clean the leaves well, wash thoroughly to remove all the dirt.Drain well&chop roughly.⠀
- In a handi, put all the greens and greem chilies together⠀
- Add little water and cook until the leaves are done well.⠀
- You may add water and pressure cook it.⠀
- The water released from the greens will cook the greens well. It took me good 15 minutes to cook the greens in the Handi.⠀
- Cool them a bit and process them into processor or blender to puree it. I usually prefer it to be coarse paste.⠀
- In a heavy bottom Handi, heat butter and ghee. Add cumin seeds and allow it to crackle. Add whole red chilies and fry few seconds.⠀
- Add garlic and ginger, fry few seconds, add pinch of Heeng.⠀
- Add onion, cook to just pink.Add grated mooli and cook for a minute.⠀
- Add tomato and sauté on high for 30 seconds.Add red chili powder and turmeric powder and mix. Cook for another 30 seconds. ⠀
- Add boiled saag puree and combine well. Add makki ka atta and mix.⠀
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.⠀
- Now top with some butter or ghee and serve with Makki ki Roti.⠀
